Channel View Publications is offering a summer internship to candidates wishing to gain some hands-on experience in an independent academic publishing house. The day-to-day work of the intern will consist of administrative tasks in all aspects of publishing, such as assisting our editorial team with correspondence and admin; keeping our mailing list up-to-date; entering royalties into our royalties program; dealing with a wide-range of customer queries and being of general assistance in the office.
During the course of the internship the candidate will get to spend some time working in or shadowing all major departments of a publishing business, including sales, marketing, production, editorial and rights, thus gaining an insight into the workings of the publishing industry.
The ideal candidate will have good language and computer skills and be a recent graduate or current undergraduate, preferably able to start work around 9th June, and finishing on 22nd August. For the right candidate, we can be flexible around exams. The post will be for 24 hours per week, from 10am-4pm, Monday-Thursday, and will be paid £8 per hour.
